Aware Parenting

Aware Parenting is a philosophy of parenting based on current research in child development. It offers a fresh perspective on nurturing children and transforming interactions within families.

This approach prioritises attachment-style parenting, which places emphasis on encouraging a deep, secure bond between parents and children through practices designed to nurture a strong, empathetic connection.

Non-punitive discipline is another key aspect. It involves understanding and addressing the underlying needs and emotions that drive a child's behaviour. This supports parents in managing their children’s emotions and helps children feel understood and respected.

Aware Parenting also recognises the significant impact of stress and trauma on children's wellbeing. It focuses on prevention and healing by creating an environment where children feel safe to express their emotions through play, laughter, and crying. This involves respectful and empathetic listening to children's feelings.
